the misadventures of sundayman

presenting... the misadventures of sundayman, your local superhero performing feats of unbelievable stupidity in a foreign land!

brilliant: taking out the trash, cleaning the bathroom, doing the laundry.

not so brilliant: forgetting that i had just dumped the towel into the washing machine... and taking a shower.

bright: sneaking out dripping wet in my boxers to grab a towel.

not so bright: forgetting that i had turned down the thermostat. AND that i had left my blinds open. AND that i live on the ground floor with my window facing the carpark.

can our hero get any more dumb than that?! stay tuned to find out...

jerk...

went to the international food fest yesterday. there were so many countries represented. the ones i remember are china, taiwan, japan, indonesia, india, puerto rico, germany, france, chile, italy (3 hot chicks manning the counter), switzerland... seriously i can't list them all because 1. i have a bad memory 2. i was too busy eating.

the best of them all was the jamaican stall. oh man. i swear the wings were so good i went back 2 times. the fat jamaican guy laughed at me, but i don't care. and i wanted to steal xinhui's chicken. it was that good. i found a recipe online and if i have some free time i'll try it out. it SOUNDS do-able, but knowing me i'll end up killing the dish.

we also went to the bug bowl. it was kind of chilly this year, so we ended up going in jeans and jackets, which is a bummer because i had visions of me frolicking in green grass wearing berms, a tee and flip flops. alas! it was not the case.

anyways, i'm going to give the recipe a try (one fine day) and perhaps i'll have a photo or two to post. if i'm still alive after that, that is... i just cooked eggs and my tummy is acting up.

jerk.... chicken.... drool...

that's hot!

the past week or so i've been making up a list in my sneaky sneaky head, and i call this list the 'hot' list, simply because girls on this list are spicier than your average. wowaweewah!

colin's 'hot' list, in no particular order.

girls who are a bundle of fun.
girls who game. tetris doesn't count.
girls who snowboard.
girls who dance. hot dancers are always welcome in colinland.
girls who play the guitar.
girls who sing.
*bonus* girls who play the guitar AND sing.
*bonus* girls who get their freak on AND sing.

while we're on it, here's another list, also in no particular order.

come on come in by velvet revolver
figured you out by nickelback
shake that by eminem
i'm in love with a stripper by tpain
stay fly by three 6 mafia
miss new booty by bubba sparxxx

i wish i knew what songs they played in clubs nowadays. i've been out of it for so long i really have no clue. no matter. i will find out in may when i get home. i'm going to do a repeat of last summer... i'm going to club every other day until i fall sick. bite me :)

the good, the bad and the ugly

the good: chicken in a biscuit.
the bad: eating said crackers while doing research on a sunday.
the ugly: me tomorrow, as i deal with an awful sore throat.

on to other things.

i've got a decent hair cut! i didn't dare get my hair cut here, since me and US hairdressers have a long history of mishaps, and it grew out some. it was long enough for me to bite my fringe (not that i tried. honest.) anyways i found out that there was a korean salon next to hana market. i figured she'd know how to cut asian hair, and she did a fairly decent job. it's not the same as in sg, but it is a million gazillion times better than mastercuts. it's time to break out all those tubs of hair gum/hair mud/hair clay/cosmic clay again.

so yeah. as i was getting my hair lopped off, i watched the strands fall down, and slide away. that got me thinking. they say that your past makes you you. as in you are the result of all the past experiences you've ever had in your life; all the things you've done, all the places you've been, all the people you've ever known. so. can you distance yourself/deny your past and still stay the same person?

indy/chapalang chicken

a brief update on the life of colin.

it's the spring break, so i'm relatively free. we didn't go anywhere this year, so it's sort of a whole week of sausage parties. it's fun to just chill with guys and talk guy stuff and do guy things. and it's nice to have a breather.

i reformatted my comp yesterday. i think it's good because it makes my comp run faster, and it forces me to do some housekeeping. it's also nice to have a change, and a fresh start. i had some programs that i couldn't totally uninstall, like cygwin and windows blahblahblah developer, which we used for 495 last semester. it's irritating to have a process run in the background and not know what it does... so i just axed them all! muahahaha...

we drove down to indy yesterday to meet up with the iu gang. it was my first time meeting them, and i thought they were a really nice bunch, except for one jackass. j a c k a s s. the rest were fun. we went 2 rounds on the go kart track, and andrew actually made it down in time for the second round. dinner was at bonefish grill which was quite awesome. if only i had my camera...

came back home, and took a nap before sending yanling and derrick to the airport. by the time i got home it was about 5 or 6 and i was so tired i just lay down and the floor and slept. i mean... 2 trips up and down to indy is no joke man. i was so tired i didn't even bathe. grabbed the sleeping bag, jumped in and fell asleep instantly.

woke up in time for the bbq at kewinn's. it was awesome. once again, i have invented a culinary masterpiece... it's called colin's chapalang chicken. i just shoved the wings into a zip lock bag, and poured in all sorts of sauces that i found on the table. oyster sauce, black sauce, light sauce, some weird vinegar thing, sugar, salt, tonnes of honey and beer just for fun. i cracked an egg for the second batch. it was quite okay lah. so far so good... no one's complained of a tummy upset yet. heh.

going out in half an hour. it's guys' night out. we're going to celebrate andrew's birthday. chances are it's going to be a blast.

crash and burn/take me out

i've been having an unbelievably horrible week. feeling a bit overwhelmed by school. i feel like i'm going to crash and burn so very badly. and in light of this, i have decided to destress this weekend by doing absolutely nothing at all.

i'm going to spazz out this weekend, and no one can stop me!

so i've just done myself a big favour and installed world of warcraft. it's pretty fun. i've managed to reach level 6 with my night elf druid in an hour or two. i foresee myself spending some quality time with her. heh. it's a great way to destress.

tonight is going to be good. me and xinhui are going to score us some ribeye at texas roadhouse. it's something to look forward to.

and i just remembered something. once upon a time my grandma was more mobile and energetic. i remember in secondary school she'd take me out quite often. she'd bring me to all sorts of places, like the hairdresser, the market, malls... we'd invariably wind up in church for the 6pm mass, unless i pretended to have a headache or something. heh. but i remember the treats most vivdly. she was so cute about it... she'd never tell me specifically that she wanted to treat me, but i figured her out. she'd bring me to the shop at sts peter and paul (which is somewhere near raffles city) on the pretext of buying gifts for friends. then she'd bring me to olio dome at the SAM. it was nice and cosy. we never talked much because she kept buying me chicken pies and carrot cakes and hot chocolate. she'd just smile and watch me eat.

she doesn't galavant anymore, but i'm hoping she still likes carrot cake. when i get back in summer i'll buy her some olio dome carrot cake, and if she can't eat it then i'll eat it for her. somehow i think she'd rather watch me eat it.

lab rat

ah, the life of an ee major. i had so much fun today, i'm just bursting with joy and happiness. BURSTING.

i was in the lab since lunch. it's 530 in the morning, and i just got home. that makes it about 17.5 hours in the lab. i feel like a lab rat. wish someone would feed me cheese, though...

class is in 3 hours. i have 2 hours to sleep. hope i wake up in time.

p.s. i'm sorry i haven't been updating. i haven't been doing anything fun, and i doubt you guys would want to read about my work. i'm actually saving you guys from icky ee stuff.

oh wait. i cooked fried rice last week. it was ok lah. edible, but it could have been a whole lot better. we all have to start somewhere, no? :)

and i write really short sentences. i blame it on lack of sleep. goodnight!
